unscathed, 2025
Faded xeroxed photographs printed with diminishing ink capture scenes of landscape transformation. Depicting once-vast farm fields gradually succumbing to suburban development, as the land is stripped away to make way for fast, inexpensive houses. The process involves scraping away the previous environment and ecosystem, erasing natural habitats and agricultural roots in favor of rapid construction. Each new neighborhood edges closer to the outskirts of De Pere, WI, fueling population growth but simultaneously depleting vital resources that sustain the community—fertile farmland, dairy farms, and natural ecosystems.
